Picked up this late 1940s or early 1950s Stenso Lettering Guide for $1 from a Reno antique shop.
Super thick paint from a weird stencil in a SF parking garage.
They are kinda like the ones you can buy for teaching kids to write or for scrap booking, but these are funky and totally unique. Here is the set based on our Pufff typeface.
I’ve come to love the stencils and type on Indian trains
Auto of the day, Ratnagiri edition
Right at the brink of illegibility
Bus stencil with brushed numbers
Stencil lettering also from the train. “Emergency track” meaning emergency exit path? It’s kinda unclear, but there is an arrow by it pointing to the door.
From the side of a local bus.
